◉ Hospital Information Systems for Small Hospitals (SHIS)
■ Purpose: To support clinical and administrative activities for small hospitals (less than 150 beds)
■ Modules: SHIS is comprised of four modules: PMS (patient management system), Medical, Medical supporting, and EIS (executive information system). It is a downsize version of the HIS for large hospital.
○ PMS module processes registration of patients, invoices, and accounting reports. This module helps improves effectiveness of patient registration and billing, reducing waiting time, and improving accuracy of accounting reports.
○ Medical module processes patient’s symptoms, diagnosis, and doctor’s orders to reduce waiting time and improve quality of medical records.
○ Medical support module processes doctor’s test orders and provides test results to improve turn-around time for tests and improve accuracy of tests.
○ EIS module provides monthly patient statistics and revenue statistics to meet government reporting requirements (e.g., HO2 reports) and monitoring hospital performance.
